PFM Dental Crown Describe:
Porcelain fused to metal full crown restoration, the color is very important. The reflection, transmission, refraction of light, and translucency of the material will all affect the color, and the thickness of the same material is also very related to the color. The different colors of porcelain powders are due to the different types and amounts of pigments (oxidized metals) contained. Moreover, using the principle of reflection and transmission of the material, different color tones can also be obtained. For example, adding 10% Zn, Pe, and Mn oxides (pigments), the porcelain is yellow; adding Mn, Zn, and Ti is orange; adding Fe, Ni is gray-blue. If only 0.01% of the same pigment is added, the above three porcelain colors are too light to be distinguished. Adding a small amount of titanium oxide and zirconium oxide to the low-temperature fused porcelain becomes opaque porcelain. The color of opaque porcelain also varies. This kind of porcelain is generally made by adding quite a lot of pigments, and only a small amount of pigments are generally added to incisal porcelain.
